Jim & Karen Haywood not only share a love for each other but 'for all creatures great and small'.

We share our property with all types of wildlife (some not always so welcome) but that is nature’s way.
Our Back Yard
Karen is a retired Antique Dealer. Retired from Selling - Collecting is still an admitted obsession. I love to Garden. I find it a wonderful way to watch things mature & blossom into all they can be - Much like the cycle of Life itself.
Karen with Antiques before Retiring
Jim is a Retired '“Railroad Man'. CSX was his home base for many years. He is a History buff in general - but the Civil War is his specialty. Reading is his form of relaxation. Jim has owned Motorcycles since @ the age of 16. He’s just recently sent his old 'power' Harley to live with his youngest son. He and I now ride in the comfort of an HD Ultra Classic Touring Bike . . .
Jim is also a Master Gardner – He has done wonders here at Camelot – He’s particularly proud of his Wildlife Habit.

Jim & Karen with our Harley
Here in the countryside of Nashville, North Carolina is where we have the privilege of living with several Yorkshire Terriers, & 2 Pekingese (Ling Ling & Priscilla).  For those of you that have had the pleasure of owning a Yorkie – you already know which breed is in charge!!!

Birdhouse & Roses in our yard
Over the last 20 years that I have had Yorkshire Terriers in my life, they have lived and loved with me - 3 Great Danes, 4 Irish Wolfhounds and 1 Borzoi.  The Wolfies, in particular, made great ramps-steps-beds for the Yorkies that they used at will . . . God Bless those gentle giants. Even though the Danes & the IW’s have a big piece of my heart – I can’t imagine my life without a Yorkie.

If you are considering adding a Yorkshire Terrier to your family, the best way to be fair to yourself and to the dog is Do Your Homework.  Educate yourself about the breed.  Look at the pros & cons as they pertain to your situation.  Doing so will make you a better owner and allows you to have a happier experience with your dog.

There are many good books and web sites that can help create a list of questions to inquire of the Breeders you will be contacting.  I’m sure you know that you will have many questions to answer as well.
Always take the time to stop and smell the flowers
Visit with as many Breeders as possible.
Don’t buy from someone that wants to meet you some place to sell you a dog. They should allow you to see where and how their dogs are cared for.
A Pile of Puppies
I’ve never shipped a puppy/dog to a new owner.  Actually I don’t ship my dogs PERIOD.  I want to meet you in person - as I feel you should me as well.   Even if we’ve done extensive contact via phone/ email, found that each others references are satisfactory, that your Vet & I are on the same page, etc.  That face to face visit still has to take place.

Camelot Yorkshire Terriers

I’ve owned, shown & bred Yorkies since 1986.  I had the honor of starting out with the best mentor I could have asked for in Roberta Rothenbach of Rothby’s Yorkshire Terriers.  I’m proud to say that her lines became the foundation for my dogs. Rothby’s influence can still be seen in my pedigrees of today.
Champion Rothby's Rob Roy Of Camelot
We are a small show home in Nashville, North Carolina dedicated to breeding Yorkshire Terriers that are AKC (American Kennel Club) registered dogs and conform to the AKC Breed Standard.
Champion Camelot's Forever In Love

I stand behind what I sell.

Pets are sold on a Spay/Neuter contract – Limited registration – No Exceptions.

Always with a Health Guarantee.

Minimum of 12 weeks of age before they are allowed to leave – usually longer. I want to be able to say with the best accuracy possible – what the new owner can expect from this dog – size, coat color – coat texture (thus how to best care for it) temperament, social skills and so forth.

Our Yorkies come Pre-Spoiled, handled with tender loving care, ready to keep you entertained, share your lap, kiss away tears and become a much beloved member of your family.
